Later this year the Dutch architecture and urbanism office MVRDV will present the 2009 edition of the Museum of Tomorrow which focuses on the informal urban settlements in Asian cities and introduce a real size vertical village to the public of Taipei.
今年底荷蘭建築團隊MVRDV將推出2009年版的「明日博物館」展覽，
聚焦於亞洲的 非正式都市空間狀態，並為台北的民眾們實地打造一個真正的垂直村落。
In this pre-exhibition now the architecture, urbanism and research work of the Rotterdam based practice is on display.
MVRDV pursues a fascination for radical methodical research: on density and on public realms. Architecture, urbanism and research are conceived as engines for future innovation, with the collaborative design process as an essential focus point.
在這個年底大展前的動畫展中，展出來自於荷蘭鹿特丹市的MVRDV團隊過去所完成的建築、都市提案以及研究項目。MVRDV著迷於激進的理性分析方法，尤其在進行關於密度與公共領域的研究上，主張建築、都市生活以及研究，是未來創新的動力，而共同設計的過 程則是必要的重點。
The exhibition illustrates the way MVRDV communicates the conceptual thinking behind its architecturalwork in a series of films and animations that strip the architecture down to its essence describingthe fundamental ideas of projects such as the EXPO 2000 pavilion for the Netherlands at the world exposition
in Hannover or the new public market hall of Rotterdam.
本展覽呈現MVRDV如何進行建築設計背後概念的溝通，藉由一系列的影片與動畫，將建築概念精減到最精華的狀態，解說一些個案的基礎想法，例如：德國漢諾威萬國博覽會的荷 蘭館，或是鹿特丹最新的公共市場建案。
Another series of movies concentrates on research and experiments with the visualization of data and scale resulting in datascapes of immense scale that visualize the human activity on the planet. As an example the Metacity Datatown project, an imagined city materialized in a cube of two by two kilometers described only by means of data: An analysis of the contemporary city in a time when globalization has exploded beyond grasp.
另一系列的影片透過研究與實驗將數據與尺度視覺化，呈現出無邊無際的數據景觀，把人類在地球上的各種活動視覺化。Metacity Datatown即是一個例子，一座存在於想像中的城市，由底部為二乘二公里的方塊組成，全部以數據計算呈現：在全球化速度失控下，一座當代城市的分析。
Less abstract is the Grand Paris project, the program Paris needs to realize until 2030, hovering as a gigantic cube over the city dwarfing the Eiffel Tower only to dissolve into 26 feasible proposals in order to transform the French capital into the most compact and livable metropolis of Europe.
較為具像的「大巴黎計畫」，則是將放眼巴黎在2030年時所必須完成的都市空間需求，轉化為一個超巨型的方塊浮於巴黎市上方，分裂成為26個可行的都市規劃提案，幫助首都 巴黎轉變為歐洲經濟最緊密、最適合居住的大都會。
